Every year we sell our handmade Reindeer and Snowmen Christmas decorations with all proceeds being donated to charity – this year however we decided to mix it up and ran a poll on our Facebook page for you to decide on the charity and We Hear You (WHY) Cancer Counselling was the first choice!

Thanks to the ongoing support from our customers, we raised a fantastic ÂŁ365.00 for WHY and popped in to meet the lovely Helen last week to learn more about where this money will go. “This donation from Charltons Timberstore will fund more than 8 sessions of life changing support for local people affected or bereaved by Cancer and other life threatening conditions.”

We Hear You (WHY) provides a free professional counselling service for anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer or another life threatening condition and although they’re committed to providing a free service, their counsellors are fully qualified and paid for the work they do. WHY offers a minimum of 100 counselling sessions each week across 20 locations including:

  • Bath
  • Bradford-on-Avon
  • Frome
  • Midsomer Norton
  • Trowbridge
  • Street
  • Warminster
  • Weston-super-Mare
  • Yeovil

With a weekly running cost of around ÂŁ4,400.00 they rely entirely on voluntary donations from individuals, local businesses and grant-making trusts to maintain such a service and we’re very proud to have been able to show our support of the incredible work that they do throughout our community.
