Counter rails are used with traditional featheredge fencing for a secure and professional finish.
Installing counter rails to your new featheredge or closeboard fence is an effective way of protecting your fence from weathering. If not, over time without both capping and counter rails, water will get into the grain of the timber and result in damage or rot. The combination of counter and capping also helps achieve a professional finished look whilst helping to protect your fencing.
Did you know we only use Redwoods for our fencing range? Here’s why:
- Naturally resistant to insects, decay and warping.
- Strong and durable softwood.
- Highly effective for external uses.
- Other softwoods (such as Spruce) are more prone to warping, less attractive over time, and have a lesser life span.
