Armourflex UV Protection Oil contains a careful balance of UV absorbers and antioxidants, designed to capture the damaging UV rays from the sun and dissipate them safely as heat. In this way, the UV Oil is able to defend the wood against greying and impart a subtle, enhanced warmth to its appearance.

Description

As a sacrificial product, the coating will become less effective over time (approx. 2 years depending on elevation and weather conditions), but a fresh top up coat can easily be reapplied. Water-repellent oil and resins help to protect against warping and twisting, and active ingredients at the surface aid in the prevention of mould, fungi, and algae growth. Together, these form a microporous shield suitable for all exterior wood, especially external joinery, luxury cabins and wooden cladding.

Application

Apply 2-3 coats evenly using a high-quality brush and/or Roller.
First coat – apply generously until wood is saturated.
Subsequent coats – apply sparingly, gloss will increase.
Allow minimum 4 hours between coats and 10 hours until fully dry.
Test Area: Depending on wood type and condition, Armourflex UV Oil will darken the surface but this will usually fade back after a period of time and when the product has fully cured. We highly recommend carrying out a small test area first to make sure you will be happy with the final finish.
Protect from rain/frost until dry. Cold/damp conditions cause a hazy appearance.

Coverage

Approximately 15-20 m²/L based on smooth planed wood. Denser woods i.e. oak/iroko will require less than cedar, larch and pine. First coat will absorb more than subsequent coats.
As a guide, this 1L tin will cover 8 m² with 2 coats. / As a guide, this 2.5L tin will cover 20m² with 2 coats.

1) Kerbside drop only, delivery will be made to the nearest drop-off point to the front of the property. 2) Customers do not need to be there to accept delivery providing there is a safe and/or secure location for our drivers to leave goods, however if this is not the case they will be returned to our yard and a second chargeable delivery will be arranged. 3) Our drivers cannot enter a customer’s house/property due to risk of damage to the property and/or contents. 4) We cannot leave goods on the highway or pavement. 5) Under no circumstances can a retail customer/member of the public assist in the unloading of any of our vehicles. Contractors assisting unloading should be aware of health and safety issues and must wear appropriate PPE. If the driver deems that they cannot accept this assistance for safety reasons, they will return to the yard and arrange to deliver again with a driver’s mate. Additional delivery charge plus driver’s rate charges will apply. 6) Under no circumstances are customers, trade or retail, allowed on the vehicle beds. 7) It is the customers responsibility to inform us of any access restrictions at time of ordering. Failure to do so may result in an abandoned delivery attempt in which case goods will be returned to our yard and a second chargeable delivery will be arranged. 8) In all instances AJ Charlton and Sons Ltd reserve the right to change the delivery vehicles and/or times without notice. 9) Delivery can be anytime from 7.30am on the agreed upon day. 10) The day of delivery is subject to change without notice and AJ Charlton and Sons Ltd will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss for failure to deliver on the agreed upon day.
